Established in 1964 By the late Ward Burns , operating home built mechanical Tow trucks, Mr Burns didn't realize he was the original in a legacy to continue over 60 years to date,  Out of a rail shack at 705 Counter St (Now The Via Rail Overpass known as John Counter Blvd.

After operation into the early 1970s the business was sold to Barrie Van camp, at this time you could order a tow truck or an ambulance with one call, Still operating mechanical wreckers and the same location. In The early 1980s The business again Sold To Jimmy Mills, scaling back to just Tow Trucks , light and heavy.  After just a few years Mr Mills had passed away leaving His daughters Maryjane and heather with a Towing Company and operations to continue. They Hired an underwater welder Ken Percy (Puffy) To run Day to day operations, Later selling him the business in '84-'85. Ken Operated the Business upgrading to flatbeds and with hydraulic Tow trucks coming to market was the first in the city with an underlift tow truck. Until 1994 when he passed away. Leaving the Business To His son Joe, as he also operated another company in Napanee Ontario of his own, He had longstanding family friend and employee of wards since 1985  Randy Whan Manage the business until he purchased it in 1997. In 2001  Ward's Towing would move from the original Location on Counter St to allow for the

overpass to 1887 Sydenham Rd. Randy operated the business with his wife Kelli , and later with his son Randy Jr expanding the business from 3 trucks to 10 making the company versatile in transport and a major player In the city of Kingston, until 2022 when he retired due to illness, Passing away in Feb 2025.

Randy Jr Took over operations and continued expansion to 3 Locations and 23 Trucks. Not only  the largest company in Kingston But a major player in the Towing and recovery Industry in Ontario. Continuing to set  standards with Modern equipment and Customer Service. Over ^0 Years of service with different owners, and locations. One mission has remained the same- Repeat customers will ensure longevity in Business, If you treat everyone with equal respect you will have repeat customers.
